Purpose

The purpose of this sheet is to demonstrate how a coach might narrow down the various possible niches, to those that would best reflect the coming together of their passions, strengths and real 

needs in the market place. Once you have identified a more promising niche, that also «feels» like a good fit, you are free to continue on to further research the niche, find their underlying unmet needs,

assess competition, package and position your offering, then raise your profile and publicize your coaching solution.

Instructions

1) List your possible niches in the first column.

2) Proceed to the next column to the right, (titled Aliveness) and rank each of your possible niches on a scale of 1 to 10 based on how well each niche would align with your aliveness.

E.G. – a niche that would make you feel very much alive would rate a 9 or 10, and a niche that would not would be rated 1, 2 or 3 out of 10.

3) Continue this process for each subsequent column, such as demonstrated above for the niche «Leaders».

4) When you are finished, notice the totals in the far right column. The higher totals indicate favorable niches.

Column Descriptions

Aliveness – Does working within this niche make you feel more fully (and authentically) alive?

Values – How well does this niche align with your values?

Interests – How well does this niche align with your interests?

The «Ease» Factor – How easy or natural would it be for you to confidently work with this niche?

Impact – How well will working in this niche allow you to create the impact or meaning your want in your practice or life?

Personality Fit – How well does this niche align with your personality? Introvert? Extrovert? People person? Detail person? Like variety? Etc.

Gifts – How well does this niche fit your natural attributes, those things your do effortlessly well? Just who your are.

Life Experience – How well does this niche leverage your life experiences?

Training – How well does this niche leverage your training, education and experience?

Accomplishments – How well does this niche leverage your accomplishments, awards, titles, positions, recognition, etc?

The «Expert» Factor – How easy would it be to become a confident and expert solution provider to this niche?

Challenges – How well can you identify big challenges, changes or objectives that this niche is ALREADY SPENDING MONEY to resolve?

Ability to Pay – How well can this group pay for your services?

Competition – How would you rate your ability to dominate the competition within this niche?

Size – Is this niche big enough for you? Will it support your business for years to come?

Ease of Access – How easy will it be to access this group regularly? Emails? Talks? Articles?

Universal Alignment – A little «woo – woo» for some, but simply rate on a scale of one to 10 how well this niche aligns to produce more of what is needed in the world – how well it aligns with the rest of the universe.

(This is kind of a «wind at your back» factor, in that the closer your work aligns with what is waiting to be born in the world, the more synchronistic assistance you will receive.)
